Our Services

We offer a full array of dental services. Our services include: Preventive and Routine Care; Cosmetic dentistry including Teeth Whitening, Tooth-Colored Fillings, Crowns, Bridges, and Veneers; Root Canal Therapy; Partials and Dentures; Same-Day Denture Repair; Implant Restoration; and Extractions.

Our office uses digital radiography.  This offers our patients up to 80% less radiation than traditional x-rays.

We also have an intraoral camera that offers our patients many benefits. The camera enables us to show the patient what we see in their mouth. The image can be viewed on a computer screen or printed out for the patient. We can examine the image with the patient and thoroughly discuss treatment options with less hesitation.

Preventive Dentistry

Taking care of teeth is such an important task.  Our dental hygienists provide education on the correct way to brush and floss your teeth.  They also provide other helpful tips to keep your teeth and gums healthy.  An oral exam will be performed after every professional cleaning.  This exam includes a head and neck assessment, oral cancer screening, and an evaluation of the health of your teeth.  A PSR Score (periodontal screening and recording) will also be performed.  This measures the health of gum tissue and the jawbone.

Children receive fluoride treatments at their visits to help prevent tooth decay.  Sealants may also be applied.  They are thin plastic coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth, where decay occurs most often. Dental sealants act as a barrier, protecting teeth against decay-causing bacteria.

Periodontal Treatment

We provide non-surgical periodontal treatment in our office.  This treatment most often includes periodontal scaling and root planing.  Two visits are required for this procedure.  One side of your mouth will be anesthetized so that the hygienist is able to remove plaque and calculus from deep periodontal pockets.  You will then return to the office to have the other side of your mouth treated. Most patients will require ongoing therapy to maintain dental health.  Untreated periodontal disease may result in loose teeth or teeth that may fall out on their own.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Crowns and Veneers

Crowns most often are placed on teeth that are fractured or have extensive decay.  Teeth that are cracked, have large fillings, or have had root canal therapy are often crowned to provide strength for the weak tooth.  Crowns may be made of porcelain/ceramic, metal, or a combination of both.

Veneers are placed to improve the appearance of discolored, misshapen, or poorly spaced teeth.  They are made of porcelain and applied to the front of your tooth.

Denture Repairs, Bridges, Partials and Implants

Bridges, partials, or dentures may be necessary to replace missing teeth.  Dentures are used to replace teeth that are missing in a whole arch of your mouth.  Partial are used to replace one or more teeth in an arch.  Partial and dentures are removable appliances.  Bridges are a more permanent solution and are usually done when one tooth is missing and the surrounding teeth are healthy enough to provide support.

Implant dentistry is another option for missing teeth.  They are often the best option to replace a missing tooth.  They are the closest option to your natural tooth.  Advantages include improved chewing ability, better speech, more secure fit, greater comfort, and improved self-esteem.  The implant is made from titanium alloy and is surgically placed in the jawbone.  It will act as the root of the missing tooth.  An implant crown will be designed and permanently placed on the implant.

Endodontic Treatment

Endodontic (root canal) therapy is the treatment of the nerve which lies in the center of the tooth.  Small instruments are used to remove the blood and nerve supply inside the tooth.  Delicate files are then used to smooth and shape the canal to make sure no tissue remains which could later become infected. The canal will be sterilized with medications and completely filled with an inert material to prevent bacteria and fluids from getting inside the tooth.
